Compensation Specialist, Sr

As a Compensation Specialist, Sr, you are responsible for leading compensation configuration and project management in Workday. You will guide compensation activity in the multinational Curtiss-Wright divisions assigned, including salary and incentive administration, market analysis and compensation program development.

Your Challenge:

  • Serve as company-wide Compensation team lead for configuring and maintaining compensation data in Workday, including setting up bonus plans, stock plans, compensation grades, grade profiles, and salary structures.   Maintain eligibility rules for all compensation programs.  Partner with our HR Information Systems (HRIS) team on compensation-related business process configuration, system upgrades, and enhancements to optimize functionality.

  • Drive the company’s annual focal compensation planning process for global salary review, long-term incentive grant, and bonus payout using Workday Advanced Compensation.  This includes configuring Advanced Compensation processes, building and managing the project plan, leading data audits and thorough process testing, partnering with HRIS on EIBs/data feeds, developing and delivering training to system users, troubleshooting issues during the planning cycle, and partnering with global payrolls for timely and accurate delivery of approved awards.

  • Conduct compensation program assessment, completing compensation surveys and analyzing results, building impact analyses and transition timelines, creating and delivering communications and training, and driving implementation and ongoing maintenance. 

  • Prepare and present sound recommendations to senior management with respect to compensation programs, areas for improvement, and emerging trends to assist in decision-making that support business strategy and direction.

  • Evaluate and analyze current compensation practices, proposing adjustments to policies, pay structures, and processes that balance emerging regulatory requirements, market alignment, and business drivers.

  • Partner with field locations to administer compensation programs aligned with corporate policy. Handle inquiries from field locations, interpret company policy and government regulations, and provide solutions to compensation-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and international laws to ensure programs and plans meet statutes and requirements.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of compensation experience in a multinational environment

  • Excellent HR technology skills, including configuration experience with Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation, and familiarity with Report Writer

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis placed on Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data visualization techniques)

  • Thorough knowledge of compensation practices and processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and perform quantitative analysis

  • Ability to apply consultative skills in a business environment

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive market pricing studies

  • Ability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences both in person and via webinars

  • Dedication to precision, accuracy, and consistency

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
