Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice in Kansas City is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to join our team. You will perform a variety of functions related to managing the accounts receivable, following established processes and polices for billing and reimbursement.

This is a hybrid position that will be required to work in office on Tuesday and Thursday.

Shift: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all specialized paper and electronic claims filing, follow up, denials, correspondence, and collections activities for Commercial, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Medicare, Workers Comp, and Self Pay for Home Care and Hospice accounts

  • Tracks and approves medical Accounts Payable claims for patients locked into Medicaid for Hospice Accounts

  • Take Patient Phone calls to include taking payments over the phone.

  • Resolve any clinician phone calls regarding patient’s questions.

  • Work specialized reports to make sure accounts are billed timely and accurately.

  • Answer patient questions sent through the patient portal. Any other duties necessary to get the accounts processed correctly.
