Position Summary...
The Senior Manager of the Collection & Payments function within the Revenue Cycle Management organization is responsible for driving the conversion of billed revenue into cash by overseeing end-to-end collection operations for Walmart Connect across all advertisers. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant collection of receivables while maintaining strong relationships with customers, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
This position leads a team of collection managers and analysts while partners with the Enterprise Business Solutions team to safeguard Walmart working capital, minimize bad debt exposure, and ensures that cash application, payment processing, and credit management processes operate efficiently and transparently. As the team leader, this person is expected to drive continuous process improvements and to work closely with Sales, Client Services, Finance and other leads within RCM to proactively address payment barriers, resolve disputes, and optimize cash flow.
The senior manager combines financial rigor, operational discipline, and customer empathy to balance assertive collections practices with a best-in-class advertiser experience. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

What you'll do...
Collections Management
· Lead the end-to-end collections process for all advertiser and agency accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding balances.
· Develop and implement differentiated collection strategies for various customer segments (agencies, suppliers, sellers, non-endemic advertisers).
· Monitor AR aging reports and coordinate with Sales, Client Services, and Billing teams to address delinquent accounts.
· Identify high-risk customers, escalate appropriately, and recommend campaign pause actions when necessary.
· Establish and maintain regular cadence reviews with internal partners to drive accountability on open receivables.
· Establish and maintain ways of working with the Enterprise AR and Cash team to fully utilize their support.
Payments & Cash Application
· Partner with the EBS Cash Application team to ensure accurate and timely posting of payments to advertiser accounts.
· Oversee reconciliation of customer payments, unapplied cash, and credit memos to maintain clean AR ledgers.
· Ensure proper documentation and internal controls around refunds, write-offs, and credit adjustments.
· Support automation and system improvements for payment posting, remittance matching, and reconciliation workflows.
Dispute & Risk Management
· Collaborate with the Invoicing & Dispute Resolution team to resolve payment delays caused by billing discrepancies or credit disputes.
· Maintain a feedback loop with the Contract & Policy Management team on recurring payment or term issues tied to contract structures (I.e. payment terms)
· Monitor and mitigate credit risk exposure by analyzing customer payment trends and advise on credit limits, write-off approvals.
· Track and report on revenue at risk and collections KPIs to leadership, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Reporting, Oversight & Process Optimization
· Produce and present collections dashboards, DSO trends, and bad debt analyses for leadership and cross functional partners
· Identify process improvements to accelerate cash application, streamline collections workflows, and reduce manual touchpoints.
· Support RCM automation team in working with Product and Engineering teams to define system requirements for AR automation and enhance data visibility.
· Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit readiness, and SOX compliance within collections and cash processes.
What You'll Bring...
· Master or Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or data analytics related areas.
· 8+ years' experience in different aspects of billing functions or accounting, with minimum 2 years of experience leading teams.
· Proven experience in system automation, data analysis, and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, SQL).
· Experience with ERP or billing systems; strong data reconciliation and variance analysis skills.
· Strong understanding of audit and control frameworks (SOX, internal control testing, compliance reviews).
· Strong ability to execute, measure results, and demonstrate progress in the face of ambiguity in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
· Experience leading changes, process transformation, and scaling operational infrastructure
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management at executive levels
· Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Finance and Legal to identify requirements in tools, dashboards, and access to data to maximize performance and efficiency.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
