Analyst, Capital Markets, US

Role Summary:

The US Capital Markets team within NatWest Markets form and manage strong relationships with US corporate and institutional clients. We provide debt capital markets (investment grade and non- investment grade bond and loans, private placements), private financing and derivatives-based risk management solutions. We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment to understand our clients’ challenges and objectives to ensure optimal solutions.

We are looking for an analyst who is keen to learn about corporate finance and the capital markets and has the breadth of ability to work across multiple products to help grow our business in the U.S.

The primary responsibility of the Analyst will be to assist senior-level bankers in originating Investment Grade and non-Investment Grade transactions and other mandates for Capital Markets products (including interest rate derivatives and structured solutions) and prepare marketing materials and supporting documentation for transactions.  In that role, the Analyst will work as an important member of the team to bring together the expertise of professionals in Origination, Syndicate, Interest Rate Derivatives and Private Financing for each client.

An analyst in US Capital Markets can also expect to be exposed to the full lifecycle of a primary markets transaction across a diverse range of transaction types including those for acquisition financing, infrastructure and project finance and large corporates.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare client presentations for pitching ideas and transactions across the product spectrum to a range of corporate and financial clients
  • Summarize market conditions, recent transactions and economic headlines to produce and present relevant market updates for our clients and other stakeholders
  • Build strong network to share materials and ideas with colleagues in London, Europe and Asia
  • Research and analyse industry and sector trends, company events and transactions to support origination in pitching relevant trade ideas
  • Use the full Microsoft Office suite, internal systems and Bloomberg to evaluate and price debt instruments and interest rate derivative products
  • Assist with preparing internal underwriting documents and become proficient running transaction processes

Role Qualifications:

  • Keen interest in corporate finance and debt capital markets
  • Proactive approach to work with good organizational capabilities and high attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and autonomously as required
  • Desire and ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment within the structure of a large global bank
  • SIE, Series 79, Series 63 and potentially Series 7 FINRA licenses (to be obtained upon joining NatWest Markets)

The expected base annual salary range for this position is $95,000-$100,000 at the start of employment. This is not a guarantee of compensation.  The exact compensation is determined  on an individualized basis and may vary based on skills, experience, training licensure, certifications and location.  In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus; medical, dental, and vision plans; life and disability insurance; employee wellness programs; retirement and savings plans with potential employer contributions; generous paid time off policy, parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
