The Gogo Business Aviation Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer provides support of network projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities. You will perform health checks of network services and applications and develop testing methods to improve service availability. Utilizing scheduled health checks to ensure the environment is working as designed, you will work with peer groups to resolve any major issue observed to ensure system reliability and availability.

How will you make a difference?

  • Responsibilities include surveillance, incident management and event notification of the network infrastructure. To include the coordination and/or escalations of network issues to the appropriate engineering /operations teams

  • Use network management, monitoring and trouble isolation tools and interpreting the results in order to successfully identify, understand and resolve network problems and improve network performance

  • Provide oversight of all network activities, such as the coordination of change management and routine maintenance actions

  • Advocate for continuous improvement of our network by identifying and coordinating preventive, proactive, and corrective maintenance requirements through the process of problem management.

  • Support of network projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities

  • Perform health checks of network services and applications and developing testing methods to improve service availability

  • Application Monitoring to include server hardware and Operating Systems. Scheduled checks to ensure the environment is working as designed, working with peer groups to resolve any major issue observed to ensure system reliability and availability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication or equivalent work experience

  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience in a Network Operations Center, ISP, Wireless Switching Center (MSO/MTSO) and or data center operations background

  • Rotational shift work. Must maintain flexibility to work Shifts 2 or 3

Required Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Experience with core IP infrastructure to include Nexus, Cisco 38xx, Cisco 35xx series routers and switches

  • Has worked with 5G and 4G LTE cellular infrastructure. Docker and Kubernetes experience is a plus

  • Understanding of the fundamental relationships of each layer of the OSI model and protocols such as Ethernet, DS3, CDMA, MPLS, BGP, LAN/WAN, IP routing, 802 WIFI protocols, router technologies, and wireless networks

  • NMS experience in either the Network or Application arena. This includes working level knowledge on server hardware and a variety of OS/Applications

  • Skilled in Linux, Python, ELK

Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Preferred experienced in the build and launch of a major communication/data network (cellular, IP or telecommunications) to include the development of support matrices, operational procedures, monitoring software and trouble-shooting methodologies

  • Desirable certifications: Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, AWS

Equal Pay Disclosure(s)

Base Pay:

74,400.00 - 93,000.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:

Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
