Job Description

Position Title:              M&A Project Manager

Position Reports To:   PM Snr Manager, Planning and Project Services

Location:                     Mississauga Ontario 

Compensation: $115k-$143k

Role Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing M&A projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the specified requirements. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, communicating with stakeholders, and overseeing project resources to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and allocate resources accordingly. Identify and manage project risks Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, direction, and support throughout the project lifecycle. Foster a collaborative team environment conducive to creativity and innovation Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives with organizational goals. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular project updates Resource Management: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and materials. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed to optimize project performance Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that may impact project scope, schedule, or budget. Implement contingency plans as necessary Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to project specifications. Conduct regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project quality Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints and justify any deviations Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication among project team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties. Prepare project status reports, presentations, and documentation as required Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, or resources, assessing the impact on project objectives and stakeholders. Implement change control processes to document and track changes effectively Closure and Evaluation: Lead project closure activities, including formal acceptance of deliverables, handover to operational teams, and post-project evaluation. Capture lessons learned and best practices for future projects

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering) required; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, managing complex projects from initiation to completion
  • Previous experience in managing all technology related components in a merger and acquisition
  • Experience can vary from small ( 50 People)
  • We are looking for someone to oversee and managed the end to end process of multiple M&A’s
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams within IT ensuring the smooth execution of the M&A or Divestiture
  • Previous experience in leading the Due Diligence process of an M&A is highly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Broad cross-industry experience and domain expertise – industrial manufacturing sector, intercompany, third-party distribution and branch retail operations experience an asset
  • Solid understanding of enterprise applications including ERP, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution & Retail, Warehouse Management, CRM, Enterprise Content Management, Financial/Corporate Performance Management, BI & Analytics, EDI and E-commerce
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, PPM Pro)
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills.  Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g. ISO)
  • Limited travel (National & International) may be required for this role
