Job Title : Engineer- Machine Shop

About the Role : .

• Develop and improve on the processes related to Steel Casting Machining
• Selection and approval of machining outsourcing activities
• Drive process improvements
• Evaluate and propose use of new technology and equipment
• Recommend and implement new technologies and equipment.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.
• To coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for machining-related outsourcing, trials, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in process planning and execution of machining operations on cast components, including setup, tool selection, and fixture arrangements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date machining setup sheets and work instructions.
• Monitor machining parameters and recommend improvements for productivity and surface finish.
• Provide hands-on support for CNC and conventional machines (HBM, VMC, HMC, VTL).
• Participate in troubleshooting during machining issues, supporting root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with quality and production teams to ensure machining quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Support selection and monitoring of subcontracted machining vendors.
• Perform time studies and contribute to cost estimation of machining processes.
• Ensure documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures in the machine shop.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team for equipment upkeep and preventive maintenance planning.
• Promote 5S, safety, and lean manufacturing principles on the shop floor.
• Facilitate training of shopfloor operators in machine handling, tool care, and quality awareness.

Qualifications: Diploma/Graduate in Mechanical or relevant fields
