Manages, plans, coordinates and controls the flow of materials, products, service and related system from point of origin to delivery. Acts as the point of contact for customers and service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, or trucking companies. Prepare documents, such as bills of landing, shipment and letters of credit, invoices, quotes, and process vendor payments. Maintain database with logistics information (e.g. flow of inventory, track of products, metrics, on-time delivery rates, fulfillment rates). May identify opportunities for inventory reductions, optimize service level and cost reduction.
