Per Diem Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician, Newton-Wellesley Hospital
Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Covering Obstetrician to join our collegial and patient-focused Obstetrics and Gynecology team on a per diem basis. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to women across the full spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic services, supporting both inpatient and outpatient clinical needs as scheduled.
At all times during scheduled shift be present on NWH campus
Respond to any obstetrical or gynecologic emergency anywhere on the hospital campus
Assist with cesarean deliveries and other surgical procedures when requested to do so by an attending Obstetrician Gynecologist
Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for women across all life stages
Provide consultation when requested by an attending physician
Make rounds every evening plus mornings of weekends and holidays with the perinatal nurse team leader and attend OB Safety Rounds in order to identify patients with risk factors and mobilize appropriate sources
Provide direct patient care to patients without a NWH Ob/Gyn who present to the Emergency Department or Obstetrical Triage Unit with an urgent obstetrical or gynecological condition. At the end of your shift, provide a 'warm-handoff' of these patients to the designated physician
participate in the provision of quality, evidence-based care
comply with all NWH and MGB policies
Demonstrate professional behavior and engage in an effective, collaborative, and collegial manner with other NWH employees, as part of a multidisciplinary team of caregivers
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
Active and unrestricted Massachusetts medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
Demonstrated clinical excellence in both obstetric and gynecologic care.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills in a collaborative clinical environment.
