The RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient centered care. The RN will assist the physician with patient calls, maintaining medical record information, coordinate patient care with other health care providers including necessary prior authorizations. The RN will focus on prevention, health promotion, patient education, and patient assistance. Under the supervision of a physician the RN is involved in rendering medical care to relieve the symptoms of patients' injuries, diseases, and conditions as well as advise, counsel and instruct patients on health care treatment and prevention.

This is a hybrid position.

Pay Range:  $26.89 - $41.95/hour

Employment Type:  Full Time Hybrid, 80 hours every 2 weeks

Schedule:  Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 4:40 pm, Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Requirements:  Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program required, Current Michigan RN license required, BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
 

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:

  • Promotes patient safety by maintaining the policies and procedures of the physician office
  • Achieves office-specific initial and ongoing competencies.
  • Maintains the ANA Standards of Professional Performance including:
  • Participates and is mindful of the quality initiatives of physician practice.
  • Maintains nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.
  • Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Works with physician and family in rending medical care.
  • Coordinates patient care involving other members of the health care team in relation to Patient Centered Medical Home as appropriate
  • Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing service.

DIRECT PATIENT CARE:

  • Develops and initiates nursing regimens, for example: applying infection control measures; assessing and managing wounds; applying heating and cooling devises.
  • Implements patient management plans as devised and directed by a physician.
  • Administers medications as directed by a supervising health professional including IV administered medications.
  • Performs non-invasive physical exams following physician approved protocols

DOCUMENTATION:

  • Documents patient information in the medical record.
  • Assists with maintaining patient medication logs, completes prescription files and communication logs
  • Assists the physicians with the chart closing process.
  • Files records in accessible, confidential and secure system.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:

  • Supports the quality improvement activities of the facility and responds appropriately to change.
  • Participates in learning or teaching experiences as appropriate
  • Requests supervision when needed and utilizes supervision effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with policy, procedure and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains patient rights, confidentiality.
  • If applicable, ensures appropriate documentation for billing, maintaining ethical billing practices.
  • Identifies communication needs of significant referral sources and assures that they receive information in a timely manner.

-Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program required
-Current Michigan RN license required
-BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
-Specialty certification such as CCRN, CRN, CNOR, CEN preferred
-Bilingual preferred
