Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the client's agent, consultant, advisor, and authorized representative through all phases of design and construction-related aspects of data center projects
  • Work with client's stakeholder groups and third party consultants, design consultants, construction management firms, and construction contractors to administer the design on behalf of our client
  • Coordinate, clarify, and track design packages with Client and Client's third-party contractors
  • Manage and coordinate design efforts for bundle domestic and international projects
  • Manage escalation of design issues to resolution
  • Support contract negotiation with Client's third party contractors, in alignment with Client's project manager and legal counsel
  •  Draft and coordinate design contracts and amendments for site development, data center design, construction administration, peer review, and additional scope requirements
  • Develop comprehensive design project plans including kickoff documentation, baseline scope, schedules, budgets, risk logs, team rosters, and change management protocols
  • Maintain design trackers, review checklists, comment trackers, and decision logs throughout project lifecycle
  •  Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments at key milestones
  • Produce monthly design reports and meeting minutes during design phase, and monthly CA/SDC reports during construction administration
  • Coordinate cost estimates with stakeholders and third-party contractors for scope gaps and changes
  • Ensure design QA/QC performance and report issues to client
  • Oversee invoice processing, payment application tracking, and reporting
  • Negotiate, resolve, and close outstanding change orders, quality issues, or disputes
  • Support program travel and general management activities

Education and experience: 

What we're looking for is a technical candidate with at least 5 years' experience in data center project management. A post-graduate degree in engineering or business is also a big plus. You will be experienced in managing multiple parties, vendors, stakeholders and priorities with various milestones. You will be detailed orientated and organized in your approach to project management.

As a Data Center Design Project Manager, you'll demonstrate your expertise in interacting with a wide range of clients and stakeholders — that's why impeccable people skills will be essential. Likewise, you must show your aptitude in developing improvement initiatives and continuous improvements. You must also display flexibility in managing daily activities using various systems and coordinating complex technical deliverables.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution. Preference towards a Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Familiar with data center design standards and local statutory submissions and approvals process
  •  At least 5 years as a Project Manager, Design Manager or similar role in data center or critical facilities projects
  • Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals
  • Strong working knowledge of technical drawings, single line diagrams, and data center infrastructure systems
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills and experience managing complex design documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members (architects, contractors, client's representatives, etc.)
  • Ability to manage all aspects of data center design and construction projects effectively and efficiently including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, change orders
  • Experience managing domestic and international project portfolios
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Workspace, Google Docs and Google Drive
  • Experience with design review processes, constructability assessments, and value engineering methodologies
