Various days during the week - Primarily Saturdays

Saturday 4 hours. - Monday 8 hours and Friday 8 hours

Pay Range

$19.80 - $29.70

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and create floral designs which meet and exceed customer and patient expectations
  • Create floral designs consistently and efficiently for purchase within departmental guidelines.
  • Create attractive/flexible displays of merchandise to optimally use space and attract sales.
  • Participate in the purchase of appropriate perishable produce and other supplies ensuring procurement of high-quality merchandise at optimum prices with expedient delivery.
  • Determine quality and quantity of fresh flowers required. Collaborate with Manager daily to ensure budget requirements are met.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with vendors. Determine which vendor to use by comparing price, quality and service needs.
  • Determine retail price of products sold.
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate storage and utilization of perishable products.
  • Participate in appropriate levels of inventory to meet financial goals.
  • Serve as a salesperson and operate cash register as necessary.
  • In the absence of manager, supervises the daily activities of volunteer staff who are responsible for specific areas of Flower Shop operations.
     

Education/Experience Required:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent + 1 year experience.
  • Knowledge of fresh flowers and plants.
  • Floral Industry or retail sales experience preferred.
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Articulate in communication Ability to create floral design; fresh and artificial
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality record
  • Ability to work Holidays if needed
  • Needs to work with people and volunteers as well as floral design.


If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
