Mend Health is looking for a Patient Coordinator to join our team. The Patient Coordinator is a key member of the healthcare team responsible for providing a seamless and positive experience for patients throughout their visit. This role involves coordinating appointments, handling inquiries, and ensuring effective communication between patients, providers, and other medical staff. A successful Patient Coordinator should be compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to manage a variety of administrative tasks while focusing on patient satisfaction and care quality. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and are committed to enhancing the patient experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, tests, and follow-up visits.

  • Communicate with patients to provide appointment reminders, answer inquiries, and offer general guidance.

  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clarity and understanding of treatment plans and procedures.

  • Update and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Process patient intake forms, insurance information, and payment transactions as needed.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to enhance patient care and experience.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) or more years of office administration or field experience is required, preferably in a medical setting, acute hospital, wound care clinic, home health, or skilled nursing unit.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Proficiency in medical software (EHR/EMR systems) and standard office applications.

  • Familiarity with insurance and billing processes is an advantage.

  • Prior experience in a patient-facing role within a healthcare setting, such as a medical receptionist, patient services coordinator, or similar position.

  • Experience handling sensitive patient information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Required Education and Credentials:

  • High School Diploma; Associate’s degree preferred

  • Graduate from a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Program (CAAHEP) or by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

  • Current CMA, CNA or EMT Certification licensed in the state of employment – must be maintained throughout employment.
