Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Intramural & Recreational Sports is looking for a dynamic individual seeking an internship in the area of Intramural & Recreational Sports with Administrative Assistance to the overall office area.

Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, this 10-month position includes a monthly stipend of $2,016.00, beginning in August through May (negotiable), with optional meal plan support.

The Intramural & Recreational Sports Intern will report to both the Director and Assistant Director of the Intramural and Recreational Sports Department. The intern will provide support to the Intramural Sports Program as well as the Intramural & Recreational Sports office. Job duties include administrative support for the office, providing customer service in the office and over the phone, selling theme park tickets, and helping manage the front desk staff. Intramural sports duties include organizing leagues and tournaments, handling day to day tasks for sporting events, coordinating officials’ schedules and training, supervising and critiquing officials, administering captains’ meetings, setting up and tearing down sporting events, and assisting with marketing program, including creating flyers, managing social media outlets, promoting the program, and assisting with new program ideas. Hours will vary, but mainly the intern will work Monday through Friday and some occasional weekends.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or related area of study
  • Knowledge of intramural policies and trends
  • Excellent oral and written communication sills
  • Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing software (i.e. Photoshop, iMovie, Canva)
  • Awareness of safety and risk management concerns
  • Providing positive and prompt customer service
