RSM seeks an experienced regulatory compliance professional to join RSM as a Risk Consulting (RC) Director and a leader in our Regulatory Compliance practice focused within the financial services industry. The right candidate will leverage their technical expertise along with their experience delivering engagements across all lines of defense to a broad portfolio of financial services companies.  Experience desired in managing a regulatory compliance practice focused on large, complex clients, and the ability to assist in the definition and execution of a strategic vision co-developed with industry and service line leaders.

The core activities include leading and driving the client and talent experience within our Regulatory Compliance Risk Consulting team, working collaboratively with our national financial services industry and sector leaders to provide strategic thought leadership and direction that responds to the evolving needs of our client base.

As a Risk Consulting Director, you will need to:

  • Demonstrate strong regulatory compliance technical expertise, weighted towards CFPB and FFIEC guidance, coupled with outstanding financial services industry experience.
  • Draw upon your demonstrated technical, industry and risk advisory knowledge to become a trusted advisor to our clients.
  • Assess and communicate regulatory, technology and risk considerations while leveraging cross functional teams to drive expertise through the talent and client experience.
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions and approaches to serving clients based on evolving technological tools and trends.
  • Build and sustain effective third-party relationships with regulatory compliance and automation technology firms, as relevant to the execution of the strategy.
  • Enhance Firm capability to respond to high-profile client needs as it relates to significant, complex compliance remediation and/or program transformation.
  • Effectively manage, motivate, and mentor multidisciplinary teams to work as a cohesive, client-centric unit in delivering high-quality solutions to sophisticated clients.
  • Leverage your existing network and personal brand in the marketplace to drive growth, which includes identifying and securing new opportunities.
  • Oversee a diverse book of business, maintaining overall responsibility for the effective delivery and engagement risk of all client-related work within the portfolio.
  • Leading multiple high-profile client relationships simultaneously, while providing leadership on proposal opportunities and ongoing internal initiatives.
  • Recruit and retain future leaders of the firm.  
  • Leverage your experience and expertise to advance the professional aspirations and skills of your colleagues.

Professional Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, computer science, related discipline or a JD.
  • A minimum of 20 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience leading regulatory compliance teams within a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth within financial services industry across multiple service lines.
  • Successful track record of building and growing a regulatory compliance practice, including ability to think strategically.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills, including interaction with members of senior management.
  • Applicable certification(s) (e.g. CRCM, CPA, CIA, etc)
  • Ability to travel for internal meetings and to meet client needs

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $122,300 - $245,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
