Summary:

In this role, you will be a Data Engineer on the Vizient PrefTech team. You will be accountable Relfor two primary functions: (1) developing and evolving the various data products within the PrefTech platform, and (2) delivering support to the advisory services team by answering technical questions, addressing data issues, and building reports related to Vizient’s preference card management service.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data-related improvements to the PrefTech software platform, including new ways to analyze and report on ingested data.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the various data elements ingested and managed within the PrefTech platform, in support of both internal and external customers.
  • Assist with user training and technical support related to the PrefTech platform.
  • Work as part of the scrum team to deliver new features for the PrefTech platform.
  • Work as part of the services team to support customer needs and custom reporting requirements.
  • Own the customer onboarding process as it relates to collection and ingestion of platform data.
  • Understand technical requirements and see them through to completion.
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code while promoting best software development practices and embracing emerging technology standards.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure development milestones are met or exceeded.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding progress with development and data management projects.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required. Demonstrated ability to extract meaningful business insights from messy data and to articulate the stories behind identified data patterns.
  • Experience working as a Data Engineer and experience working in cloud based data warehouse environments (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Demonstrated expertise in SQL (MySQL, data warehouse, star schema).
  • Strong troubleshooting / QA skills for both code and SQL.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Microsoft Power BI and/or similar reporting tools.
  • Proficiency with Python (data pipelines, Pandas).
  • Familiarity with Celery for task execution.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work effectively.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $146,700.00.
