Role Definition

Analyzes Sales and Operations Planning business problems and issues on large volumes of data from internal and external sources to provide insight to analysts and decision makers. Identifies and interprets Sales and Operations Planning trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. Visualizes data utilizing PowerBI for effective data story telling.  Presents data insights to senior leaders for effective decision making.

What you will do:

  • Understand Sales and Operations Planning strategy and drive data optimizations and visual insights.
  • Performing data gathering, data mining, and data processing on large volumes of data; creating appropriate data models.
  • Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.
  • Interacting and collaborating with team members and participating on cross-functional project teams.
  • Works directly with Demand and Supply business partners to understand informational needs and create reporting/visualization solutions that turn data into critical information to ultimately drive sound business decisions. 
  • Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy into production automated reporting solutions.  Incorporate statistical methods and/or digital methods to solve business problems.

What you will bring:

  • Business Statistics: Knowledge of the statistical tools, processes, and practices to describe business results in measurable scales; ability to use statistical tools and processes to assist in making business decisions.
  • Programming Languages: Working experience in applying Python and R to solve business challenges; ability to use tools, techniques, and platforms to write and modify programming languages.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Query and Database Access Tools: Knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Typically, a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree, preferably in statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar field with quantitative coursework.
  • Technical and problem-solving skills with evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field.
  • Specific training or experience with Python, R, SQL, Excel, and Snowflake.
  • Microsoft PowerBI certification or equivalent PowerBI knowledge.
  • Breadth and depth of knowledge in the application of statistical and/or digital methods to solve business problems.
  • Ability to create innovative solutions to solve business problems.
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Additional Information:

  • Travel requirements will be less than 10%
  • This position will be located in Peoria, IL
  • Domestic relocation is available for those that qualify
