About Sam’s Club Tech – Advertising Tech(MAP)
Our team focuses on
Consolidate and standardize all connections to external systems and programmatic exchanges. (WPA,DFP/GAM, ANX, TTD, LiveIntent, Adobe, Pinterest, LiveRamp etc)
Provide a unified create/read/update/delete API for operations across all of the third-party systems
Provide a normalized view of campaigns and metrics from these different sources for other systems to use.
Generate insights and reports for advertiser campaigns in both real-time and batch mode
Collect and aggregate ad delivery metrics (real-time impression, viewability etc.).
Partner with DS to build and enhance sales lift methodologies, including synthetic control, ghost ads etc.
Build and operate a data warehouse for analytics and business operations
Expose all reports via reporting APIs and data tables
Collaborate with engineering and infra teams to build a ML and experimentation platform
Ownership of ML models for audience targeting. Build and improve relevance and ranking models for ad serving
Ownership of lift measurement methodology, and support enhancement of attribution models and buyer analytics
Job Description
Hands on development on building n-tier applications using Microservices, Java/J2EE and related technologies.
Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams. Prepare requested information and obtain cross-function approvals.
Leads the work of other small group of engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Identify short- and long-term solutions and timelines, review and provide feedback for proposed solutions and performing design and code reviews of changes.
Analyzing business requirements, story-boards and similar artifacts of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds.
Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results commitment to team success and positive team dynamics.
Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers Experience with SCRUM, and/or Extreme Programming methodologies.
Technical Skills:
Bachelor of Science and 6 years’ experience or Master of Science with 4 years’ experience in software engineering
4+ years of experience in software development, focusing on distributed systems
A self-starter who enjoys reading well-written code, and writes code that others enjoy reading
Excellent command of design patterns, data structures and algorithms
Expert knowledge of software design, distributed systems
Advanced coding skills in Scala, Java, Python or similar
Willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
Can navigate complex systems and deliver highly scalable and reliable production-ready code
2+ years of experience in working with and managing large data sets
Understands, articulates, and applies principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems
Extracts data from cloud-based systems, creates data pipelines and transform data to a structure that is relevant by selecting appropriate techniques
Nice to Have:
Experience with big data technology (Hadoop, Spark, Storm, Presto etc.) and large-scale analytics systems that are capable of ingesting, managing, storing and analyzing hundreds of terabytes of data
Excellent data analytics skills and ability to explore and identify data issues
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins and Maven
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform technologies, especially BigQuery, GCS and DataProc
Familiarity with workflow management systems like airflow or oozie
Some exposure to machine learning and data science
Experience in AdTech and advertising measurement
Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
