Job Summary:

The Red Hat Services team is looking for a Senior Middleware Consultant to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will work with Red Hat solutions architects to deliver results that meet customer needs using the Red Hat Middleware solutions portfolio. You’ll use your technical expertise and understanding of customers’ infrastructure to meet their needs and resolve issues. As a Senior Middleware Consultant, you'll apply your background in design, development, and testing to oversee the implementation of recommended or developed solutions. You’ll need to be able to maintain good relationships both with other Red Hat associates and across customer organizations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Resolve issues in a creative and practical way with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures

  • Become a respected Red Hat subject matter expert on site, addressing customer technical, development, and strategic IT requirements

  • Define overall system architectures and manage software specification, design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions

  • Report on project status, issues, and time

  • Explain complex concepts clearly using terms appropriate for your audiences

  • Understand the risks and benefits of implementing Red Hat-based solutions in regard to customers’ requirements and existing investments

  • Oversee the delivery and project management of customer and partner projects

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience with middleware technologies, including enterprise web or middleware development

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate with customers on a daily basis

  • Experience with two or more middleware solutions from the Red Hat portfolio of offerings or knowledge of competitive solutions, along with the knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, containers, and Kubernetes is a plus

  • Solid project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies and continuous integration (CI)

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
