Job Description:

SCOPE: Coordinates the scheduling of patient appointments for chemotherapy treatments, infusion services, and follow-up consultations. Manages authorizations and pre-certifications for all medical procedures and treatments related to oncology care.

FUNCTIONS:

1.    Scheduling of Medical Procedures and Treatments
2.    Obtains authorizations & pre-certifications
3.    Patient education
4.    Medical chart management
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical office required

Previous appointment scheduling experience required
Knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization process and contracting preferred
Must be able to work independently, possess strong organizational and communication skills and to adhere to established goals and deadlines
ICD-9/10 and CPT coding a plus
Medicare, Medicaid and private-payer practices and regulations
