Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care, confident in clinical procedures, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures

• Safely restrain animals for exams and procedures

• Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision

• Collect and process lab samples (blood, fecal, cytology)

• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical prep and recovery

• Maintain accurate patient records and medical histories

• Educate clients on pet care and treatment plans

• Ensure cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, surgical suites, and kennels

• Support inventory management and stocking of supplies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting, school or VA program (certificate) preferred

• Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and clinical procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

• Passion for animal welfare and client education
