Works under the supervision of the Food Nutrition Services Manager to provide food and nutritional services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Provides technical assistance and/ or guidance to assigned staff in carrying out their work assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Cook

• Prepares food in accordance with menus, diets, production records and recipes using established procedures and guidelines.
• Assists with tray line operations. Supports catering operations as needed.
• Assures timely delivery of food products to Cafe.
• Completes pre-preparation of foods and freezer pulls in accordance with menus and recipes Adjusts menus and recipes based on census.
• Safely operates ovens, stoves, ranges and other related equipment.

Food Safety and Sanitation

• Safely handles food in accordance with established FDA and MDA guidelines and practices.
• Follows daily sanitation schedule in performing assigned cleaning duties.
• Performs "clean as you go" activities and maintains high level of cleanliness in assigned work area.
• Washes dishes, utensils and equipment. Operates dish machine. Returns clean items to assigned storage areas.
• Ensures that all food is properly labeled, dated, and rotated.
• Collaborates with other areas of the department to minimize food waste.
• Maintains proper hand hygiene.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment after use.
• Other Duties as Assigned.
