We have an exciting opportunity at Caterpillar for an Accountant to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team supporting the Indirect Services - Global Facility team. Applicant will perform accounting functions supporting business process, including Forecasting & Planning scenarios, capital, service charges and indirect procurement saving validation. This individual contributor role will positively impact the Financial Planning and Services division.

What You Will Do: 

  • Support worldwide Global Facilities business, including forecasting and analysis of headcount and balance sheet
  • Preforms monthly forecasting and actual allocation for services charges, capital and depreciation 
  • Manages and validates indirect saving methodology, providing worldwide business continuity 
  • Financial closing and forecasting activities adhering to accounting practices, policies, and procedures
  • Completion of Compliance requirements and reports for accounting review of legal documents

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience:  The position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business-related degree and/or equivalent accounting or finance experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes

Top Candidate Will Also Have:

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience 
  • Must have proven record of strong initiative, accountability, and problem-solving skills
  • Analytics knowledge including Structured Data, Power Query, Power BI
  • Strong communication, analysis, and collaboration skills
  • College degree with an accounting major or approved accounting certification

  • Location:  Peoria, IL (AB)
  • Domestic travel up to 5% 
  • Relocation is available
