Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Essential functions:
Perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program. Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives.
The analyst may also be expected to derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract, and distribute internal loads and perform weight and stiffness optimization. Tools utilized may include FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.
Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 8 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain access to Special Programs required prior to start of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Airframe Structural Analysis Experience
Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to start of employment
Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $112,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
