This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to HQ Building in Shanghai, China full time.

The Role

Product, S&S, Features and Tech Research Analyst, GM China Customer Research

What You'll Do

  • Conduct primary research projects through cross-functional teamwork with Global / JV partners to provide customer research insights to future GM vehicles, software /digital services development process.
    • Conduct quantitative/ qualitative research studies to support future vehicle, software and digital services development timing and decision milestone.
    • Host cross functional team /leadership review and drive project timeline / deliverable.
    • Lead research methodology design (including study flow, sample plan, questionnaire/mod guide, stimuli, and data modeling, as needed).  
  • Initiate, Plan, execute tech/feature research studies to discover innovation and differentiation opportunities vis-à-vis software/digital experience of future vehicles, content optimization and WoW/USP scenes creation.
    • Independently perform nuanced data analysis with statistics / AI tools.
    • Collaborate with US Product research and conduct COTS studies
    • Interpret qualitative data into actionable insights and industry trend.
  • English report writing in compliance to GM research standard; Research results communication in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Lead China customer research project tracking, documentation in compliance to ILM requirements.
  • Provide customer data and insights to support BU strategy discussion. Cross functional teamwork with PPRE, S&S, Design and Program teams.
  • Conduct research projects in compliance to GM research methodology guidance and data security protocol.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​​  

  • Excellent in English and Chinese language, both speaking and writing. Proficient in teamworking and communication skills, be able to driver projects through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-starter, Result driven, be able to drive projects under tight timeline. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiar with AI tools, SPSS or Sawtooth software are preferred.
  • Good knowledge about auto industry, and Minimum 3 years’ experience in cross functional team work or data analytical roles. Familiar with vehicle development, software development process, NCBS, mTab is a plus.
  • Bachelor or above degree in Business, Statistics, or Social Science is preferred.
