Position Title: Tool & Die Maker

Shift Assignment – 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm)

$32.50 + shift premium totaling $34.00/hour

The Job:  

As a Tool & Die Maker , you’ll be part of our Shelbyville Manufacturing team working as an on-site employee.   

You’ll get to:  

  • Operate and set up machine tools (such as mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) to fabricate, modify, or repair tools and parts as required.
  • Inspect, measure, and test completed tools and parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Assist with the receipt, storage, issue, and return of tools and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure tools are in proper working condition.
  • Follow safety, housekeeping, and compliance policies within the tool room.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings in tool manufacturing and maintenance.
  • Component specifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-training in other operations.

  • High School Diploma or GED required, AA degree or equivalent from college or technical school preferred
  • Technical or vocational training in machining or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or tool room environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial tools, equipment, and machining processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Proficiency in using computerized inventory and maintenance systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot tool-related issues and perform repairs.
  • Ability to lift and move tools and equipment (up to 33 lbs.).
  • Standing, walking, and manual handling as part of daily activities.
  • Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend instructions for safety and quality
  • Flexibility to work overtime
  • Must not be on an active Final Coaching for any disciplinary action
