Position Highlights:

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm

What you will need:

  • License: N/A
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent with on the job training in blood center operations and apheresis, or Bachelor's degree in a biological science with no clinical certification or LPN license, or EMT certification with phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
  • Experience: Phlebotomy training experience
  • Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills.

What you will do:

  • Collect autologous and directed whole blood donations and apheresis platelet donations.  Perform therapeutic phlebotomies and peripheral stem cell collections. Recruit apheresis donors, homologous whole blood donors, and neonatal plasma donors.  Serve as a resource person for junior staff members.  Responsible for performing procedures consistent with or based on the age and developmental status of the patient to maximize the clinical outcome and safety of the patient.
