Job Description

Bose Corporation is seeking a Final Assembly Engineer located in Shenzhen. Final Assembly Engineer will work as a subject matter expert in ensuring CM processes meet Bose requirements. You will guide, oversee, review, and approve assembly process development of our new products.  Working closely with our contract manufacturers and development teams, you will identify risks and serve as a subject matter expert in assembly process related activities.  You will have the responsibility to ensure/manage that our contract manufacturers (CMs) meet defined NPI deliverables throughout the development process.  This is a global role with interfaces in China, SouthEast Asia, as well as with our North America team.

Responsibilities:

  • Early engage to review design and identify risks.
  • Provide input to the design community via DFM/A report and influence design.
  • Work with CMs to define processes & equipment development requirement and standard.
  • Oversee, review and approve manufacturing process and equipment development activities.
  • Guide or coach CM partners to utilize DFx and other techniques to design and develop manufacturing processes.
  • Drive CMs to execute NPI activities on time / within budget.
  • Ensure CM processes meet Bose requirements.
  • Evaluate CM capabilities, gaps and help improve.
  • Frequent travel to support Bose product builds primarily in southeast China, Vietnam, and Thailand. Extended stay may be required during travel.

Skills Required:

  • Experience overseeing Contract Manufacturer processes development.
  • Experience co-working with global team, cross functions and external suppliers.
  • Experience developing processes for consumer electronic devices, wearables, headphones is preferred.
  • Practical experience using a 3D solid modeling CAD package (Siemens NX a plus).
  • Ability to review design, understand design and influence design.
  • Ability to proactively identify risks and manage risk with mitigation plan.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability in the application of lean principles in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and experience in application of DOE to develop complex manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge and experience using DFx, Control Plan, PFMEA and statistic data analysis.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English

Education:

Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering (mechanical, physics, material science etc.)
