We are looking for Java a developer to join our Securities Risk IT Team who is hard-working and passionate about delivering excellence. You’re a self-starter with a desire to learn and a passion for technology who will work to achieve your objectives. You are committed to good code quality, unit testing and enabling automated testing.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Implementation of Market Data and Risk related projects
  • Design and development of the backend/frontend engine for Risk IT and clearing
  • Write clean, efficient code based on specifications to develop complete solutions occasionally utilising multiple languages or technologies
  • Demonstrate a consistent focus on quality, deliver reliable, robust software through the creation and execution of automated tests
  • Setting up, maintaining test automation frameworks, and building test scenarios and acceptance tests
  • Take interest to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects
  • Actively participate in Scrum meetings to give timely status updates on changes for which you are responsible
  • Build positive relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team
  • Participate in support of the wider platform, potentially joining the on-call rota
  • The role works with the Risk IT Platform team lead

Crucial Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experienced software engineer with excellent knowledge of the Java language and underlying JVM
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Proficient in Git & CI tools
  • Understanding of security implications and secure coding
  • Experience in delivering production IT solutions from the design to production
  • Autonomy, problem solving skills
  • Effective team working skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work with team delivery environment.

Desired Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experience of Fixed Income or Equities IT Risk
  • Experience of Linux and shell scripting
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with RESTful interfaces
  • Experience of frontend development frameworks such as React
