The Opportunity

This position works out of our Coyol de Alajuela location in the Electropphysiology Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Buyer I, you’ll have the chance to provide materials support for both production and non-production items. This may include quoting, purchasing, supplier management, and administrative support. Responsible for the procurement of materials, services, and supplies used in the manufacturing of Division products.

What You’ll Do

• Prepares and place PO’s per requirements of MRP/requisitions/STOs, and confirm the delivery date.

• Coordinates the return of damaged goods, replacement items, or credit arrangements.

• Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules, work with suppliers to maintain supplies to minimize shortages of supplies.

• Monitor Supplier Performance/Communicate and take action to maintain high level of supplier performance.

• Materials filing and administrative support.

• Maintain and update Supplier Data base (ASL) as required.

• Maintain inventory levels based on forecast

Shift Admin

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Student at least 80% in related business field required: Supply Chain, Finance, Business Admin, etc.

  • 0-2 years of experience

  • Is able to manage entire purchasing cycle from initial quoting to confirmed order receipt.

  • Is able to identify cost savings opportunities and implement plans to realize savings.

  • Intermediate command of English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of MRP, purchasing, and production principles.

  • Experience in the medical manufacturing field or similar rols.
