Job Description Summary

The Work at Height – Elevated Work Subject Matter Expert will develop and sustain programs and processes that support Gas Power Business Operations and the EHS Center of Excellence, with a strong focus on GE Vernova Life Saving Rules across all Gas Power business units.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Gas Power Business Operations Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Center of Excellence (COE), working closely with EHS value streams, supply chain operations, regional EHS leaders, and cross-functional teams.

This position reports to the GE Vernova Gas Power EHS Subject Matter Experts Team Leader.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement management system programs and processes to identify and control Work at Height / Elevated Work risks and hazards across all Gas Power business units.
  • Create and maintain procedures, risk identification tools, mitigation methods, training, and drills, and apply effective investigation processes to reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and meet GE Vernova and customer expectations in partnership with Gas Power Business Operations and the GE Vernova EHS organization.
  • Provide technical EHS support, guidance, and direction on Work at Height / Elevated Work–related hazards and risk areas (e.g., Confined Space Entry, Electrical, Energy Isolation/LOTO, Mechanical Lifting Operations, Aerial Lifts & Forklifts, Scaffolds and Platforms, Machine Safety, Powered Hand Tools).
  • Support the sustainable implementation of GE Vernova Life Saving Rules.
  • Analyze EHS data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and drive strategies to eliminate or reduce EHS risks based on identified trends and performance metrics.
  • Support the development and effective execution of the Business Operations EHS COE strategy.
  • Collaborate across multiple functions to design and implement programs that foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead and contribute to incident investigation teams to identify contributing and root causes and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions are defined and implemented.
  • Support the GE Vernova Gas Power EHS “read across” process to share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Participate in Gas Power and GE Vernova risk-based auditing programs to assess Life Saving Rules, regulatory compliance, and company EHS & Quality Management System requirements across business units.
  • Travel to supply chain, New Units, project, and services sites to validate and support implementation of Work at Height / Elevated Work procedures and processes.
  • Apply Lean methodology to drive simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement in Work at Height / Elevated Work programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher-level Safety Diploma from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in EHS Manufacturing and Service Operations
  • What will make you stand out:

  • Technical Certifications in the applicable EHS High Risk Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulations related to EHS Operations.
  • Experience with procedural development and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (self-starter)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel globally as required.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,100.00 and $188,500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
