About the department

Multi Asset Investment Solutions (MAIS) is a business unit within the Investments Division. MAIS delivers a broad range of investment solutions, from bespoke cross-asset portfolios to pooled vehicles, all tailored to meet our client’s diverse needs and objectives. This position is within the expanding Managed & Model Solutions team, focusing on managing risk-based fund of fund portfolios in the MyFolio range.

About the role

As the Senior Investment Analyst within our growing multi-asset business unit you will get the opportunity to support the management of multi-asset, fund of fund portfolios, within a team-oriented portfolio management team. Your responsibilities will include assisting portfolio managers in their day-to-day roles and providing client support. Additionally, you will research, analyse, and model investment opportunities across a diverse range of asset classes.

The role requires an understanding of a broad range of asset classes, a strong ability to analyse funds and model exposures in a portfolio. A collaborative approach, strong people skills and knowledge of coding, especially in Python and VBA would be an additional advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio management: Assist with the analysis and monitoring of portfolio positioning and risks and prepare investment proposals for consideration in the portfolio. Support trades during Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) and Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) rebalances, as well as ad hoc trade instructions.

  • ESG: Collaborate with the ESG Reporting Analyst to oversee and assess sustainability objectives, ensuring that portfolios stay within acceptable limits. Support the integration of ESG considerations into the investment decision-making process.

  • Investment research and analysis: Work with Head of Fund Selection to conduct thorough research on investment opportunities within different asset classes.

  • Collaboration and communication: Communicate positioning and views with various stakeholders across the multi-asset team to ensure stakeholders are aware of positioning and opportunities.

About the candidate requirements

  • Degree in finance, economics, or a business-related field would be beneficial. The CFA or other relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage.

  • Good knowledge of multi asset, fund of fund portfolio management, and a passion for financial markets.

  • Prior experience in an investment, portfolio construction or risk management role.

  • Proficiency in investment research tools and portfolio management software. Morningstar, Style Analytics and Charles River knowledge would be an advantage.
