Are you an analytical professional with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of financial markets? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can protect the integrity of trading activities? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Group Risk Management team as part of the Global Markets Risk Surveillance unit.

This critical role places you on the front lines of identifying and mitigating market conduct risk. As a key member of our second line of defense, you will be essential in ensuring that all risk-taking activities in Global Markets are effectively managed and adhere to the highest standards of conduct.

What You'll Do:

• Guard Against Misconduct: Carry out independent market conduct risk surveillance through daily and periodic reviews. You will be responsible for detecting any attempts at market misconduct, including P/L manipulation, market and price manipulation, and unethical trading, using various trade and communication surveillance tools.
• Ensure Compliance: Independently monitor key risks and ensure adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory guidelines. You will take prompt and decisive action to address any instances of non-compliance.
• Deliver Timely Insights: Prepare and deliver timely and accurate risk reports on market conduct to key stakeholders and management, ensuring transparency and facilitating informed decision-making.
• Strengthen Our Defenses: Formulate and constructively review risk policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will ensure all activities within Global Markets align with best practices and compliance requirements.
• Enhance Surveillance Capabilities: Spearhead improvements to our market conduct risk surveillance infrastructure. This includes enhancing and automating controls within our treasury systems to adapt to new products, market developments, and evolving regulatory landscapes.

What You'll Bring:

• Education: A tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Law, or a related field. Strong logical and analytical thinking is essential. Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or similar are advantageous.
• Experience: Preferably 1-3 years of experience in a risk management, surveillance, compliance, or dealing capacity within the banking or financial services industry.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Treasury operating systems (e.g., MUREX), market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv), and surveillance systems is highly desirable.
• Core Skills: A strong ability to connect macroeconomic trends with financial market activities. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to effectively report findings and collaborate with various teams.
