We have fantastic opportunity to join Raytheon UK in our Cyber & Intelligence mission area at a pivotal point in the shaping of our future service offerings. You will lead a team that will define and realise our ambition for Cyber services through a combination of partnering and in house capability. You will be working alongside world class partner organisations and technology.
Reporting to the C&I Head of Engineering, you will be the lead of our Cyber Services group, defining the service roadmap, building and leading the team delivering its manifestation. You will be the overall Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Cyber & Intelligence mission area, being expected to contribute to thought leadership, customer engagement, case studies and bid pursuit activities.

Clearance: Must be eligible & willing to obtain an SC clearance followed by progressing to DV level
Key Responsibilities:
- Discover, Define and evolve the definitions and designs for Cyber Services applicable at an enterprise or organisational level.
- Own the roadmap for Cyber Services, considering the technology horizons and customer needs required to support the evolving market.
- Collaborate with C&I Leadership to ensure services align with business strategy and strategy can be informed by new opportunities in the Cyber Security Domain.
- Identify, assess and forge relationships with partners who could add complimentary capability to our services.
- Author and review Cyber focused responses for bids and new opportunities.
- Publish internal and external case studies in the Cyber Security Domain in the form of written work or demonstrations
- Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure your service designs fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with broader architectural goals.
- Build and lead the team creating our Cyber Services offerings, including line management responsibility and driving recruitment.
- Act as the Design Authority for Cyber Services and be able to communicate risks and impacts of design changes to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Act as technical focal point for Cyber Services.
- Be the primary contact for Cyber Services with existing and prospective customers.
- Author and contribute to thought leadership papers in the Cyber Security Domain.
- Personal development of key technical team leaders through coaching and mentoring
- Promote and share technical decisions and choices made in Cyber Services with the wider business
Essential Skills
- The suitable candidate must have demonstrable experience as a technology leader within projects of significant size and complexity and with a significant Cyber security element. They will have skills in the following areas:
- Designing Services. Particularly designing for security, resilience and compliance.
- Applying Industry Cyber Security frameworks and understanding when to apply what type of framework. E.g. NIST Cyber Security Framework, SLSA, Secure by Design and ISO27001.
- Applying a range of Cyber security mitigation techniques to software and / or systems.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and management techniques in software and hardware systems and be able to articulate probability and impact. E.g. using control objectives with multiple mitigations to limit risk.
- Familiarity with modern software architectural design paradigms, specifically Micro Services, Distributed Systems and Hexagonal Architecture.
- Articulating complex designs to technical and business stakeholders, both internal and customers.
- Translating business outcomes into technical approaches.
- Influencing business and technical stakeholders to convey approaches and suggest ideas.
- Building productive working relationships with technical stakeholders
- Creating high-level roadmaps
- Translating theoretical concepts into real world designs
- Practicing high quality engineering practices such as TDD, Pair programming, strong encapsulation, DevOps techniques and SOLID principles.
- Working with cloud technologies and distributed systems
- Working with Agile teams using SCRUM or Kanban
- Line management of Senior members of staff
Desirable Skills
- Experience building enterprise level applications or services
- Experience designing Cyber Services or Products
- Experience with Cyber incident response
- Experience with Cyber verification or assessment techniques
- Experience of Cryptography for defence
- Experience of COTS Cyber Security Products
- Experience in Cyber Resilience techniques and tooling
- Experience with Zero Trust Architectures
- Experience writing papers for internal or external publication
- Experience authoring or reviewing bid content
