Description
The Monetization & Engagement Team is responsible for defining the vision for how eBay monetizes sellers on eBay and engages our buyers -- balancing growth, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives for eBay within a challenging and dynamic competitive e-commerce landscape. The team identifies and takes advantage of opportunities to accelerate commerce on the multi-billion dollar eBay.com.au and its global platforms with the goal of benefiting our buyers and sellers.
We are seeking a Senior Manager based in Shanghai to join our Australia Monetization & Engagement team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing the overall strategy, the financial modeling behind it, and influencing the team members to follow your driven path.
To succeed, you need to be a big-picture thinker with an analytical approach. You will need the skills to analyze and interpreting diverse data (seller, category, customer) to determine the strategies that will be most accretive to our business. Building and maintaining pricing models, monitoring pricing performance, and providing regular updates to the team and leadership. You will bring your strategies to life and own the customer and financial outcomes.
The ideal candidate is ready to independently identify and synthesize business challenges and opportunities and can lead development and execution of solutions using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
You will need to be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a balanced, ambitious, yet responsible approach to business the ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing, influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement.
Responsibilities:
Lead development of large seller acquisition strategy and influence business teams to align on the offer, refinement, and optimization
Build and maintain financial models to support special pricing initiatives
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights for pricing decisions
Create and implement strategies that act on pricing performance reports with cross-functional teams across eBay
Implement pricing strategies within eBay’s pricing system
Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and automation
Partner with regional teams to identify, develop and implement comprehensive strategies for buyer incentives and engagement that align with the company's business objectives.
Oversee the optimization of regional incentive and engagement strategies by championing global standard processes, competitive and customer insights.
Background
Business fluency in English is required
Demonstrated ability with Bachelor/ Masters or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Accounting/ Finance, CompSci, Math, Physics, Engineering or related quantitative field
Existing knowledge or hands on experience with the Australian ecommerce market preferred
CFA preferred
Background in strategy consulting, banking, financial services, or ecommerce
Experience with financial modeling and pricing analytics in an e-commerce or retail environment
Ability to code and/or data visualization (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau)
Demonstrated conceptual thinking complemented by a strong quantitative orientation
