How you will create an impact

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Key technical referral point for Property & Energy claims throughout Asia
  • Key contact for Multi-National / Major Account / Select clients
  • Support strategic initiatives particularly focused upon management of large and complex exposures
  • Support Periodic claims audit / review of in-house claims operations across the region
  • Identify and communicate environmental risks relevant to Property and Energy claims
  • Contribute towards ‘Best Practice’ claims handling for the Property & Energy line of business.

Accountabilities:

  • Effective oversight and resolution of Major Loss claims
  • Accurate and consistent reserving and financial control of claims in the Major Loss segment
  • Mitigate indemnity and expense spend in ‘Major Loss’ claims.
  • Oversee and guide Property and Energy Claims examiners across Asia on strategy and reserving for complex claims.
  • Compliant with governance standards and regulatory requirements
  • Effective communication to all relevant stakeholders, from large loss alerts to information on Major Loss and wider Property & Energy trends.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a range of external stakeholders to include brokers and key insureds.
  • Play a leading role in advancing a culture of claims service excellence throughout Property and Energy claims community within Asia.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience in multi-national claims handling & technical issues within Property & Energy area.
  • Technical and insurance qualification and knowledge in Property & Energy including Business Interruption and DSU losses
  • Able to drive improvements in claims and customer experience
  • Demonstrate accuracy and consistency in Reserving & Financial Control
  • Policy language skills / accurate & consistent policy working interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of legal / regulatory & litigation / procedural requirements across Asia
  • Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills
  • Experience in conducting technical claims audits and production of detailed findings and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate catastrophe management experience
  • Demonstrate awareness of emerging Risk
  • Able to positively influence, in a multi-cultural environment with stakeholders at every level both internally & externally
  • Highly effective communicator (written, verbal, presentation, training)
  • A willingness to both learn and develop personal technical skills and at the same time, develop other examiners across Asia.
