We are partnering with North Carolina DHHS to operationalize the single, statewide Medicaid Plan designed to support Medicaid-enrolled infants, children, youth, young adults, and families served by the child welfare system so that they receive seamless, integrated, and coordinated health care. Within the Children and Families Specialty Plan (CFSP), and regardless of where a member lives, they will have access to the same basic benefits and services, including: Physical health, Behavioral health, Pharmacy, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) services, Long term services and supports, Unmet health-related resource needs, and Integrated care management.

Our trauma-informed, System of Care-designed and outcomes-driven approach of CFSP to serving infants, children, adolescents, their parents and guardians, young adults, caregivers, and resource parents engaged in the North Carolina child welfare system, specifically families involved with DSS and youth in Foster Care. Our teams will work closely with providers, social workers and local stakeholders to bring families across the state comprehensive, whole-person care that addresses the full set of factors that impact health.
The Deputy Chief Medical Officer – Psychiatrist - North Carolina oversees and is responsible for the delivery of medical services provided to children, youth and families served by the child welfare system as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer including but not limited to the proper provision of covered services to Members, developing clinical practice standards, clinical policies and procedures, utilization management, pharmacy, population health and Care Management, and quality management. Will support the Chief Medical Officer in ensuring an integrated approach to the physical health, Behavioral Health I/DD and TBI needs of Members. Also responsible for the administration of behavioral health medical services, to ensure the appropriate and most cost effective medical care is received. May be responsible for developing and implementing programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes. May provide clinical consultation and serve as clinical/strategic advisor to enhance clinical operations. May identify cost of care opportunities. May serve as a resource to staff including Medical Director Associates. May be responsible for an entire clinical program.
