As a Sr. Full Stack Engineer, you will play a pivotal role responsible for the application design, development, testing and deployment of mission critical applications for SEI.

The Sr. Full Stack Engineer is responsible for the design and development of modifications to our custom developed Sophia application. This person will work closely with business analysts, key users, and the project team to assess business needs and determine/implement technology solutions using an agile methodology.

This person must have skills in converting specifications and procedures of moderate to high complexity into application and software solutions. This person will also have experience developing in all tiers of an application and must possess knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques and patterns and how to apply them in variety application environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote Agile development methods, including Test Driven Development and setup of automated build environments
  • Recommend technical approaches that will help to deliver reliable an efficient code
  • Work within a fast-paced Agile development environment
  • Design and develop robust solutions
  • Collaborate with project team members and other information technology colleagues to create future product iterations from defined requirements.
  • Participate in and develop new software releases, work with QA in creating test plans, and assists in creating implementation plans.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to existing production issues.
  • Provide level 3 support of development after implementation of enterprise applications.
  • Participates in the ongoing development of technical best practices

Job Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Front End Frameworks
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud architectures
  • Databases (Relational and NoSQL)
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Responsive design patterns
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes & Docker
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Version control
  • Agile
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Work Experience:

  • Five plus (5+) years experience in web application design, development, and implementation.
  • Five plus (5+) years experience with the following required: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Responsive Web Design
  • 2 plus (2+) years of working with AWS Infrastructure
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, Automation, AWS, Jira

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

  • AWS certifications are a plus

Other:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
