Overview:

If so, consider being a key partner in the growth of GSK Specialty Care as Senior Director, Head of Global Strategic Insights (GSI), Early Pipeline.

GSK is seeking individuals’ collaborative mindset to drive strategic insight generation that will define and shape Global Product Strategy for the Specialty Care Division. You will be focused on early pipeline assets, business development opportunities, and above-brand initiatives, with the intention of further bolstering GSK’s pipeline value. Working closely with the Head of the Product Portfolio Strategy Group, Business Development Leads and Leadership across business functions you will:

  • Help shape the Specialty Care portfolio and thought partner with the early product strategy leads

  • Lead the cross-functional team to consolidate insights, competitor data, development updates, medical inputs and Voice of the Patient and translate these into concise and impactful recommendations, which carry the credibility to drive action

  • Direct the insight generation to shape and drive commercial forecasts for early pipeline and business development governance milestones; in close partnership with cross-functional teams  

  • Partner cross-functionally on business development search and evaluation initiatives

  • Generate actionable and concise recommendations from a broad array of data sources and solutions to meaningfully influence GSK Specialty Care’s strategic trajectory

  • Identify, assess and implement better ways of working, including technology and innovation solutions to accelerate senior leader decision-making

  • Be responsible for team connectivity with the business, the team’s development and well being

  • Set up the SLA for this new team with the business and work with wider functions to maximise the impact of the team

  • Role model the behaviours expected of a leader at GSK

  • Drive commercial forecast generation to ensure seamless integration of market and customer insights into sound forecasts that contribute to stage gating and investment planning decisions

  • Manage vendor relationships to achieve a mutually rewarding partnership while ensuring excellence in insight generation execution

  • Leverage a wide range of tools and resources to identify opportunities, assess program potential, and provide guidance to optimize development plans

  • Ensure 100% adherence to market research compliance guidelines and all GSK policies and procedures

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BA/BS Degree

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience

  • 5+ years of commercial insights & analytics related experience

  • Multiple experiences of leading teams in both direct and matrixed capacities

  • Prior consulting or agency-side experience

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA, MS, or MA in business, marketing science, or science

  • Successful matrix leadership. Experience working in a cross-functional capacity

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior commercial leadership and confidently defend informed recommendations

  • Clear potential to grow in to and through this role into other senior leadership roles in future

  • Preference will be attributed to applicants with both market research AND forecasting expertise

  • Strong business acumen

  • Executive presence that brings gravitas to outputs and recommendation

  • Significant experience conducting qualitative and quantitative market research

  • Ability to leverage and synthesize a broad range of information sources to develop insight and generate clear, actionable recommendations that impact/drive decision-making at a business unit level

  • Deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication/ presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and influence without formal authority

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior commercial leadership

  • Agility, flexibility, and comfort with ambiguity
