About the role

The Data Steward/Business Analyst will provide primary support to Master Data Management and secondary support to Reference Data Management.  The Data Steward/Business Analyst will be responsible for learning how to monitor and maintain data quality as well as analyzing, validating, cleansing, and enriching data as needed. They will execute these functions according to established policies, principles, guidelines, and standards as determined by the Data Management & Governance Team. This role will be responsible for supporting and helping mature the MDM target operating model and assisting in managing global business information, data domains, data analysis, data projects, and programs across AIG.


Key Responsibilities: 
Data Office / Data Management & Governance
•    Support the establishment and enforcement of data office policies, standards, and procedures.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with data quality standards.
•    Act as a Data Steward for primarily managing Client and Producer Data utilized globally.
•    Support the mastering of additional data domains such as party, policy number and product.
•    Respond to and resolve internal reference data-related inquiries and issues. 
•    Manage the day-to-day operations of key Reference data processes. 
Data Analysis
•    Analyze business processes and help identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
•    Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
•    Provide ongoing data analytical support to rationalize and harmonize data guiding principles, standards etc.
Documentation
•    Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
•    Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding data assets.
•    Document Business Requirements in support of Target Operating Model.
•    Assist with development and documentation of data quality rules and guidelines.
Collaboration
•    Collaborate with IT, business units, and external stakeholders to gather data requirements.
•    Bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring effective communication.
•    Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to facilitate successful project delivery.
 

What you need to know:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology and/or Computer Science or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

2+ experience in insurance or financial services.

Ability to liaise across business units, understand and document requirements and provide functional content details.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).

Working knowledge with Collibra preferred.
The candidate should possess excellent researching skills, organization skills, communication skills and help facilitate in arriving to key business decision-making.

Working knowledge of principles associated with Data Management and Governance practices. Agile Methodology experience helpful
