About the team
We are a global team within HP's Personal Systems Marketing organization, responsible for defining HP's global Personal Systems marketing strategies, the worldwide marketing investment plan, and for orchestrating the in-market activation within a 4P context. Our objective is to maximize the impact of marketing, empowering local marketing teams to deliver greater business value by providing strategic direction, guidance, and operational support.
- We define HP's global PS marketing strategies across segments and translate them into actionable plans.
- We drive strategic alignment between Category and Marketing priorities and facilitate marketing planning within a 4P planning framework.
- We define global marketing investment plans, using a portfolio optimization approach.
- We set country targets, track progress, and optimize outcomes.
- We scale best practices and remove barriers to improve marketing execution.
- We enable data-driven performance improvement through closed-loop measurement.
The role
As Senior Manager, Global Marketing Strategy & Planning – Personal Systems, you will lead the team that defines HP's worldwide Personal Systems marketing strategy and orchestrates the corresponding execution model across Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, and Gaming segments. You will be the right hand and designated backup to the WW Head of Global PS Marketing Strategy & Planning, and a potential successor – which means we will work hand-in-hand on the most strategic priorities and you will increasingly represent the function in senior executive forums.
You will line-manage four Segment Leads (Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, Gaming) and partner closely with WW Category, Sales/GBU, CMCAO, Finance, COE, Alliance, and local Market Marketing Leads (MMLs) to translate business strategy into measurable marketing outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Global Marketing Strategy
- Define HP's global PS marketing strategy across Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, and Gaming – setting the long-term direction, priorities, and choices that guide the wider WW Marketing organization.
- Ensure the strategy is grounded in customer & competitive insights, aligned with the Business-owned 4P plan, and connected to GBU, WW Category, and CMCAO priorities.
- Evolve the strategy in response to business needs, market dynamics, and shifting funding realities.
Strategic Planning
- Co-own the development of the FY and H2 PS Strategic Marketing Plan, fully integrated within the 4P plan.
- Translate the global marketing strategy into segment plans across Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, and Gaming.
- Drive WW COE, GTM, and market readiness for consistent execution.
Execution & 4P Integration
- Foster seamless global and local 4P collaboration, ensuring marketing activations are deeply integrated into 4P execution plans.
- Set and align country targets with focus markets, track progress, and drive corrective action.
- Run quarterly Country QBWs for the top 6 countries using standardized templates (scorecards, activation overviews, high-/lowlights).
- Scale best practices, remove roadblocks, and advocate for country investment cases.
- Run Quarterly reviews with key stakeholders including markets and category.
People & Organization
- Lead, coach, and develop the four Segment Leads (Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, Gaming).
- Foster a culture of growth, learning, and fun, with a people-first mentality that encourages smart risk-taking and rewards driving change.
- Improve VIA score year-over-year and increase internal/external employability of the team.
Leadership backup & succession
- Act as deputy and backup to the WW Head of Global PS Marketing Strategy & Planning, representing the function in executive forums (QBWs, reviews) when needed.
- Co-own the most strategic and cross-cutting topics, with a clear development path toward broader WW leadership scope.
Knowledge and skills
- Strategic leadership with the ability to define global marketing strategy and translate it into portfolio, investment, and activation plans across multiple segments.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen – comfortable owning a large global budget, allocation frameworks, and ROI/MRC measurement.
- Cross-functional / transverse leadership in a matrix environment; able to drive a wide group of stakeholders in the same direction and secure commitment with integrity.
- People leadership – proven ability to lead a small team of senior individual contributors / managers and develop talent across geographies.
- Executive presence and storytelling – distil the complicated to the simple, build cases that are impossible to refute, and communicate with ease in front of senior leadership.
- Emotional intelligence and diplomacy to influence cross-functionally without authority and build trust in virtual environments.
- Drive, initiative, anticipatory leadership – self-starter who sets the pace.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication in English; additional languages a plus.
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Management, or related field; MBA a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing strategy, planning, and/or go-to-market roles, with at least 3 years in a people-leadership role in a global/matrix environment.
- Demonstrated experience defining and leading multi-segment marketing strategies (Commercial/B2B and Consumer; Gaming exposure a plus).
- Track record managing large global marketing budgets including partner/Alliance funding, and implementing allocation and cost-to-serve frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with closed-loop measurement, brand preference tracking, and data-driven optimization.
- Comfort with analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to interrogate data and drive decisions.
- Experience working with senior executives (VP/SVP) and representing marketing in cross-functional executive forums.
