    • Expert-level Layer 1 networking skills, with comprehensive knowledge of physical connectivity fundamentals.
    • Cross-connect deployment and management experience, particularly in carrier hotels and secure data centers.
    • Experience with DMDW/CWDM connectivity and the ability to troubleshoot complex physical network issues on-site.

  • Networking and Server Systems
    • Proven hands-on experience with networking and server equipment.
    • Proficiency in Linux, Networking OSes, CLI systems, and remote configuration.
    • Basic knowledge of network and server operating systems, enabling quick setup and diagnostics.

  • Project and Self-Management
    • Ability to independently manage projects across multiple sites, tracking work accurately and reporting progress.
    • Strong documentation skills to ensure clear, precise records of work completed across locations.
    • Self-directed with excellent time management skills to meet deadlines while traveling between facilities.

  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving
    • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with a talent for critical thinking under pressure.
    • Strong resourcefulness to adapt to varying site conditions, including limited equipment or support.
    • Ready to work in cold, confined spaces and other challenging environments typical of data center infrastructure.

  • Bonus Skills:
    • Understanding of network Layers 2-4 and hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista hardware.
    • Knowledge of Cloud Networking and familiarity with full-stack computing principles.
    • Basic automation skills and an understanding of common scripting methods (e.g., Python, Bash) for repetitive tasks and deployment management.
Additional Requirements:
  • Travel Flexibility: This role requires substantial national and international travel, often on short notice.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with remote teams, facility staff, and vendors to ensure successful deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Security and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data center security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Logistics Savvy: Prepared for frequent travel and irregular hours, with readiness for evenings, weekends, and complex logistics as needed.
If you’re a gritty, hands-on technician ready to work across diverse environments and help us build and sustain infrastructure at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
