We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join Avanade’s Data Engineering Team. You’ll lead the design and delivery of Data Engineering solutions for our clients, split roughly 50/50 between presales and delivery. You’ll join a community of smart, supportive collaborators where you’ll shape solutions end to end, mentor junior engineers, and grow as a recognized technical leader. Together we do what matters.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced Data Engineers with min 8 years of experience, working on latest Azure technologies. The role is split roughly 50% presales and 50% delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture, design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade analytics solutions based on Azure and Databricks technologies
• Lead delivery workstreams across projects, guiding hands-on implementation and mentoring junior developers
• Drive presales activities including creating proposals, responding to RFPs, estimating effort and pricing, and scoping and sizing solutions
• Build POCs and present technical demos to clients, translating business problems into compelling solutions
• Run client workshops and discovery sessions independently, providing thought leadership on Data Engineering solutions

Skills and experiences 

• Min 8 years of end-to-end experience in Data Engineering, including large-scale projects
• Experience in working with the latest Azure technologies, such as MS Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen 2), Cosmos DB
• Understanding of software engineering tools and concepts including experience in Python, Scala or PySpark
• Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery of data solutions end to end, including making architecture decisions and mentoring junior engineers
• Experience contributing to presales activities such as proposals, effort estimation, pricing, and solution scoping in a consulting or professional services context
• Strong English communication skills with the ability to lead client workshops, present to executives, and facilitate technical discovery
• Possess leadership experience with small development teams: track work, manage assignments, manage capacity, etc.
