In this role, you will:

Provide technical support, development and control to the asset team, so that the assets maintain the highest levels of productivity and profitability while maintaining high safety and quality levels. Provide technical support to the Operations Teams to ensure problem solving through a continuous improvement mindset and driving the highest standards in Manufacturing Excellent programs that supports OEE delivery. Provide data analysis for key focus areas through daily tier meeting reporting as well as grade change management.

  • Be a leader and role model for the Asset / Operations teams interacting with support departments.

  • Liase with Asset team, Operations team, Engineering team and Quality team.

  • Capable of leading self and driving performance management in Maintenance/GC execution.

  • On the job training and sharing of knowledge

  • Effective management, execution and delivery of grade change activity across the assets.

  • Requires understanding of Environmental, legal and K-C statutory requirements.

  • Continually comply with all K-C regulatory & control requirements, internal controls, while at all-times driving accountability and compliance on the assets and capital spares.

  • Ensure assets/equipment are maintained in a “Safe to operate” condition at all times while promoting all aspects of safe working practices to meet all safety and housekeeping objectives of the plant.

  • Contribute to the development of sound safety programmes and maintenance of good working conditions, adherence to organization and Legal Safety rules and regulations.

  • Participate in the role out and development of improvement projects in specific focus areas.

  • Lead improvement on various assets in the Mill that will improve “stops, quality, safety, ROO and waste.

  • Participate in review meetings that will drive sustainability and encourage dialogue that will drive and sustain our Lean Culture as well as cost optimization.

  • Apply PDCA Methodology and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Develop WI, Standards and OPL’s that will build capability.

  • Provide engineering knowledge and support for the solution of Mill daily operating problems

  • Own the effective grade change process and use digital tools to track and optimise performance of units/areas and change activity.

  • Lead and own P2030 best practice implementation in line with the reliability strategy

  • Provide input, technical development and technical control including autonomous care protocols to the assets so that the equipment operates at the highest productivity and profitability levels.

  • Assisting with the planning and set up of the equipment in line with best in calls uptime and efficiency.

  • Audit and make recommendations for the solution of problems relating to equipment and or assets that supports cost optimization and delivery.

  • Support analysis of maintenance/consumable cost and spend to delivery and improve $/SU

  • Continuously seek innovative solutions and lead by example as well as benchmarking of solutions to improve cost and MTBF.

  • Formulate, develop and drive areas of improvement within specific process areas supported by digital analysis and dashboards to deliver improved costs and quality.

  • Review of statistical data to support quality and OEE

  • Accountable for Data integrity for the specific process area and change activity

  • Analyse and interpret data to enable operating teams to achieve performance targets in accordance with P2030 and Reliability best practice.

  • Effectively managing Centreline, Specification reviews and GRS of specialized area

  • Ability to share key insights to market complaints originating from specialized area.

  • Understanding of PASS/ quality charts results and impact on specialized area.

  • Accurate setup of area during Grade Change to meet quality standards

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a trade (Fitter & Turner or Fitter) with N4 an N6 or

  • National Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience on high-speed production equipment,

  • Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems and Adhesive systems (advantage).

  • Able to use and understand mechanical drawings

  • LSS – Yellow Belt Certified

  • In-depth knowledge of OSI PI Vision, MES.

  • Working knowledge of SAP and ETQ

  • Ability to use AutoCAD viewer

  • Ability to use advanced features of excel including but not limited to pivot charts and formulas

  • Apply basic level of analytical thinking to data analysis and solve complex problems

  • Basic knowledge of Power BI
