Position Summary: A Field Install Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the professional growth and development as well as providing leadership to the Installer Technicians. The Field Install Supervisor maintains an awareness of the daily operational needs within the department, shifting priorities as necessary.

What you'll be doing:

  • Overseeing all aspects of any builder or residential installation job.

  • Lead by example with the ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with all Guardian employees, customers and sub-contractors.

  • Assisting new and less experienced technicians with training and coaching on site, in the field.

  • Adhering to the Guardian Protection Services Installation Standards, the National Electric Code, Manufacturer’s Instructions and Guardian Protection Services Safety Policy.

  • Maintaining a direct relationship with all builders. Including the involvement of all installation and service needs of these accounts.

  • Programming and troubleshooting multiple product lines, as needed.

  • Verifying all additional equipment related to the assigned job.

  • Motivate and guide employees to meet departmental goals and ensure their productivity.

  • Analyze any performance related issues and proactively work to resolve them.

  • Provide answers to the installers by identifying problems, researching answers and guiding individuals through corrective steps.

  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken.

  • Supervisor needs to check job sites, QC prewires, trims and visit with builder production managers

  • Assist installers, customer service and in-house employees on correct operational aspects of all tasks that need to be completed on a daily basis.

  • Communicating installation issues back to Sales and Operations Manager.

  • Assist with inventory control and participates in formal inventory counts.  

  • Exhibits appearance and conduct in accordance with all established company standards and policies.

  • Other tasks and duties may also be assigned as needed.

What you'll need: 

  • EXPERIENCE:  Minimum five years performing similar duties, preferably in the home and commercial security, cable TV, telephone service or home improvement industries.

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. 

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio, and percent. 

  • REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

The employee must be capable of frequently bending, kneeling, crawling and stooping while working. The employee will consistently be required to work from high places such as roofs, ceilings, ladders, as well as from crawl spaces and other limited spaces within and outside of homes and businesses. The employee must be able to safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 25 on a routine basis, and on limited occasions up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision. The employee must have excellent hand eye coordination. The employee must maintain alertness at all times in the work environment to which s/he is assigned and not be easily distracted. 

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and frequently works in high precarious places and attics. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is required to work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to extreme heat and is exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The employee will have to climb and work from ladders or lifts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   Valid driver's license. Trade licenses, registrations in accordance with state/local regulations as required. 

  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Proficiency with computer hardware components/software packages. Must be able to read/interpret road maps. Must be flexible and possess excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and confidentiality a must. 

  • TRAVEL REQUIRMENTS:  Up to 50% travel. 

  • WORK SHIFT: Ability to work evenings or alternating work schedules as necessary.
