CACI is seeking an IT Cloud Operations Project Manager to join our cloud operations team on a contract/project supporting Department of Homeland Security. The IT Project Manager will oversee cloud operations support and project resources involved in operations and maintenance (O&M) supporting applications hosted on AWS and Azure. Successful candidates will direct a matrixed technical team including subject matter experts (SMEs), technical personnel, and other appropriate expertise as needed to develop, design, document, implement and manage small- and large-scale cloud solutions as part of O&M activities.

The IT Cloud Operations Project Manager will ensure compliance with the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) process through all phases of the life cycle (planning, requirements definition, design, development, integration, test, disposition, implementation, operations & maintenance) as well as deliver the appropriate SELC artifacts as defined by the level of the project.

This position is hybrid telework with onsite requirements rotating between the customer site at the DHS Headquarters location in Washington, DC and CACI’s PMO at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD.

More About the Role

Serve as an IT Cloud Operations Project Manager responsible for cloud operations and maintenance (O&M). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • All areas of Project Management from initiation through closeout, ensuring the successful execution of the project in support of government customer’s mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Responsible for the management, scheduling, and coordination of projects activities, and staff assignments to support O&M and project activities.
  • Provide leadership to a cross-functional team, managing team resource assignments, projected task completion dates, prioritizing activities based on customer requirements and SLAs.
  • Document and track the project lifecycle in JIRA.
  • Oversees individual IT projects and tasks from identification of requirements, analysis and design, development, end-user testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Document and manage all issues and risks, developing and maintaining a risk register and mitigation plan.
  • Facilitate all necessary meetings, to include requirements gathering, kick-off, technical exchange meetings, design review, status meeting, closeout meetings and all ad-hoc and post-mortem meetings necessary.
  • Manage the transition of projects from engineering to O&M.
  • Provide appropriate reporting and drive towards on time delivery by working directly with stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations for process development and improvement.
  • Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.
  • Track and manage initiatives, deliverables, customer relations, and project management/operational reviews.  
  • Develop and produce documentation, reports, and presentation slide decks.
  • Prepare and present briefing materials to staff, executives, and federal customers. Interactions involve client meetings and interfacing with senior management.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred
  • BA/BS and 8 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent (equivalency includes MS/MA + 5 years applicable experience or AA + 10 years applicable experience)
  • 3-5 Years previous experience in a supervisory role managing direct reports or leading a cloud support/project team.
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining Kanban boards or virtual task boards and direct oversight of projects using agile methods.
  • Experience and understanding of Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, or other ticketing applications.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, predominantly Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Any of the following certifications is highly desired:
    • AWS
    • Azure
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Other IT technical certifications
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance (active TS preferred)
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, Scrum, Agile)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to relate effectively with program employees, government/client representatives, and internal organizational functional representatives.
  • Able to discover relevant data, understand the context it is being used, and apply experience analysis to turn data into useful information
  • Experienced receiving initial program information, conducting research to better understand requirements, and achieving high quality results
  • A collaborative, team-centric attitude and enthusiasm that encourages outreach and partnership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and requirements simultaneously in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice and under high pressure in high visibility situations

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,800 - $180,200
