Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

This is an exciting and unique leadership role on the Travelers Business Insurance Actuarial Product Auto team that includes significant involvement in the new and continually evolving Travelers Commercial Auto Product (TCAP). Reporting to the VP of the Actuarial Product Auto and CMP teams, this newly created role will have responsibility for TCAP post monitoring, Auto Line Management evolution with BI Product, and implementation for both TCAP and our legacy Auto products. The role will include significant interaction with our BI Product, Regulatory and implementation partners, among others, and will manage a team of eight Actuarial professionals. The successful candidate will have a technical and analytical skillset, strong actuarial knowledge and critical thinking, and effective business and technical communication skills.
What Will You Do?
Strategy:
- Assess, prioritize, influence and communicate strategic initiative options to senior leaders.
- Foster an environment for effective execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects.

- This position will lead assigned unit strategic initiatives and cross-unit initiatives and is expected to participate in Enterprise initiatives.
Operational:
- Perform and lead actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems and apply judgment appropriately.
- Drive day to day execution within unit. Drive broad department initiatives.
- Promote efficiency and identify appropriate resource needs across primary working group, balancing additional effort against incremental lift gained from work.
- Make decisions independently in accordance with Segment practices.
- Consistently provide direction and review others' analytical work.
- Translate ambiguous business needs into analytical solutions.
- Provide support as necessary for initiatives across the Enterprise within the scope of influence.
Communication:
- Communicates on a regular basis with staff, peers, business partners, and often with senior leaders.
- Proficient at tailoring communication of analysis, project results, and other business initiatives to audience.
- Proficient at communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- College degree in STEM related field.
- Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
- Leadership experience.
- 10+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
- Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
- Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
- Exceptional influencing and/or consulting skills; able to build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and translate complex information to senior leadership and non-technical teams.
- Strong PC skills (MS Office).

What is a Must Have?
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years of comprehensive quantitative analysis experience required.
- Project or people management experience required.
