The Technical Training Specialist delivers in-depth training for SketchUp’s primary functions, interface operability, and common industry workflows. In this role, you will assist new or existing SketchUp users with training needs by fulfilling training engagements sold directly to customers.

What You Will Do

As a Technical Training Specialist, you’ll take charge crafting dynamic, multi-level technical training engagements for both live and virtual customer learners. You'll be at the forefront, designing and delivering training that aligns with SketchUp standards, identifying program requirements & improvements, gathering technical data, managing schedules, and maintaining meticulous training records. Your mission is to tailor training programs to meet client expectations and constantly enhance the delivery through valuable feedback. 

  • Craft and deliver training for the SketchUp suite of solutions; 

    • Teach SketchUp  workflows through project-based learning that incorporates multiple adult learning styles

    • Create basic to mid-level training curriculum for SketchUp’s primary tools and functions

    • Ensure materials for classroom training, Virtual training, and eLearning courses  align with SketchUp’s skill standards

    • Provide technical training via various platforms;

      • Onsite Training (no more than 2 weeks per month)

      • Virtual Classroom Training, Webinars, and Customized Training

      • Remote Methods such as TeamViewer, ReadyTech, GoToMeeting, and Google Hangouts or Zoom

  • Manage training sales and transaction data using Trimble’s internal CSM systems

  • Collaborate with various internal teams, such as Marketing and Product Management, to create effective, up-to-date, and on-brand learning content

  • Create and maintain an up-to-date training schedule, coordinating with customers to schedule timely delivery of training services

  • Assist new or existing clients with training needs and questions such as new user SketchUp onboarding,  typical workflow and feature operation, interoperability between products, and product-specific questions

  • Maintain training records to enable effective learner follow-up and future customer engagement opportunities

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Minimum of 2 years of training and presentation experience to medium and small groups, both remote and in-person

  • Some SketchUp experience preferred, 1-2 years

  • Understanding of architectural and Engineering processes using 3D Design/Cad software

  • Ability to educate a variety of roles and stakeholders in the creation and maintenance of a digital project model 

  • Excellent written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills that transcend language and cultural barriers

  • Ability to make effective, timely decisions

  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

  • Travel up to 50%, onsite training no more than two(2) weeks per month
