What will you contribute?

Reporting to Dawid Bienkowski, the Senior Manager Development will be responsible for leading and managing a locally based development team in Pune, overseeing the technical delivery of data‑driven solutions and the product development of the Financial Messaging product suite.

This role involves end‑to‑end engineering leadership across design, development, quality, and delivery. The Senior Manager will manage resources using Agile methodologies, support hiring and career development, and foster a high‑performance engineering culture.

A key expectation for this role is the daily use of Generative AI (GenAI) tools to accelerate development, improve quality, enhance productivity, and drive innovation. The Senior Manager must actively embrace, promote, and model the adoption of GenAI across the team.

The Senior Manager will also collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Program Managers, developers, and end users to ensure successful implementation of product capabilities.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Technical & Delivery Leadership

  • Provide strong technical leadership and direction for the Pune development team.
  • Oversee technical design, systems analysis, coding, unit testing, and integration.
  • Ensure delivery of high‑quality, secure, scalable, and maintainable software.
  • Drive data architecture initiatives including data modeling, database and data warehouse design, performance optimization, and cost‑efficient architecture.
  • Guide usage of ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, MicroStrategy).
  • Use GenAI tools daily to support architecture design, code generation, documentation, analysis, and quality improvements.
  • Champion the adoption of GenAI practices within the team, ensuring engineers are trained, equipped, and encouraged to leverage GenAI responsibly and effectively.

Team & People Leadership

  • Manage and grow a strong local engineering team in Pune.
  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain high‑performing engineering talent.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and structured career growth opportunities.
  • Build a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a mindset of experimentation and productivity through use of GenAI and modern engineering tools.

Execution & Delivery Excellence

  • Deliver software releases on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Drive Agile execution and SDLC best practices.
  • Embed quality early by ensuring automation and testability are incorporated from the start.
  • Prioritize and manage workloads across multiple time zones and stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine engineering processes to improve velocity and predictability.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:

    • Offshore / outsourced engineering partners

Required Experience

  • 10–15 years of professional software development experience in a senior engineering role.
  • 5+ years of management experience, including leading offshore or distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing development teams and delivering enterprise‑grade software.
  • Strong background in SaaS, cloud‑based applications, and modern software architectures.
  • Proven track record leading complex projects across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to learn and adapt to new languages, frameworks, and technologies quickly.
  • Hands‑on experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) as part of daily work, with a clear mindset for operationalizing GenAI across engineering workflows.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and people leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and engineering rigor.
