Job Summary

The Manager leads the creation, implementation, supervision and ongoing strategies for enrollment growth, admissions, and stakeholder engagement as they pertain to health sciences and biosciences. Collaborating closely with faculty and academic leaders, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining admissions, increasing enrollment, increasing completion rates, and growing stakeholder engagement. The Manager supervises the Project Manager and Specialist(s) as they work to support the functions above.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Operational Leadership

  • Supervises a team of Project Managers and Specialists by recruiting and hiring, assigning and delegating tasks, providing direction, resolving work problems, communicating job expectations, training employees, and developing professional growth opportunities.

  • Conducts annual employee evaluations, provides ongoing feedback and coaching, and effectively recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate—Administers disciplinary actions upon approval and in collaboration with Human Resources.

  • Ensures alignment of assessment strategies with program objectives and fosters a culture of collaborative problem-solving and educational equity.

Program Management

  • Collaborates with the Academic Affairs division to support program/project assessment and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining admissions procedures, growing enrollment, and facilitating program completion.

  • Partners with colleagues from the Office of Talent Strategy, Office Admissions, and employer/community stakeholder organizations for a collaborative approach to growing the student enrollment pipeline for healthcare and biotechnology.

  • Provides training to staff, ensuring they understand the importance of the program’s support of College goals and initiatives.

Administration

  • Ensures effective communication between students, assessment staff, and other stakeholders, facilitating a collaborative environment for continuous improvement. Performs administrative duties in support of the department and the program.

  • Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and community members.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal and internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the college and business partners.

  • Ensures college name and image are perceived positively by external and internal audiences/stakeholders.

  • Regular attendance at department staff meetings and college-wide advisor meetings and training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time and occasionally stands and walks. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Three (3) years of experience related to healthcare-related stakeholder engagement, education-related project management, admissions, and coordination of grant-funded activities.

  • *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
